Schurrle insists he was happy at Chelsea

New Wolfsburg signing Andre Schurrle has admitted that he didn’t want to leave Chelsea last month, according to the Daily Star.

The 24 year old secured a January move to the Bundesliga after the Premier League leaders agreed a deal to sign Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.

In one-and-a-half seasons with the Blues, Schurrle racked up sixty-five appearances in all competitions, scoring fourteen goals, while internationally he was part of Germany’s World Cup winning squad last summer.

He scored three goals in Brazil, and featured in all but one of their games on route to lifting the famous trophy in Rio de Janeiro on July 13th.

The former Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen man made his Wolfsburg debut on Saturday as they beat Hoffenheim 3-0, with Schurrle assisting Bas Dost’s third minute opener.

Meanwhile, his former club Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Aston Villa.
