According to the club themselves, Borussia Dortmund has released Andre Schurrle after the club and the player came to an agreement on his termination – one year earlier than his contract would’ve suggested.
The World Cup winner has been out on loan across the last two years with Fulham and Spartak Moscow, and while he has had interest from a string of other teams, he won’t be moving to them directly from Dortmund after it was confirmed that he is no longer a member of the first team squad.
The former Chelsea star was once considered to be one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe, but as we all know, the game has changed and evolved since then. He’s still an incredibly capable player to have on the books at the best of times, but Dortmund are clearly aiming higher as they prepare to try and hunt down Bayern Munich next season.
