Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle has made it clear he is perfectly happy at Stamford Bridge despite being linked with a summer exit.
The World Cup winner was believed to be on the radar of La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, but he ultimately remained with the Blues.
And even though Schurrle has yet to establish himself as an undisputed starter, he seems to have become a very important player in Jose Mourinho’s squad, so no wonder the forward is quite satisfied with how things are panning out.
“Mourinho has given me this feeling that I would be a big part of the team. He plans with me and he wants me in this team and he wants to play me,” Schurrle told Daily Mirror.
“That’s why I want to stay at this club. Everything here is good for me. I have the pressure to perform, I have the pressure to do well in training.
“I have the great fans that all support me here and so there was no question for me that I would leave this club in the summer.
“I just want to take the chances I get, improve my game, improve myself and we’ll see what happens.”
Andre Schurrle joined Chelsea last summer following two very successful years with Bayer Leverkusen, and he did fairly well in his first season at Stamford Bridge, making 30 Premier League appearances and scoring 8 goals.
The 23-year-old scored three goals for Germany in six substitute appearances as die Mannschaft won the 2014 World Cup title, and he has already netted two times in the new Premier League campaign.
