Atletico Madrid are expected to make wholesale changes for next season following a disappointing campaign this term. And one man who could be tasked to lead the new project is former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster.
The future of the current Los Colchoneros trainer, Abel Resino, remains in a cloud of uncertainty. But after last weekend’s shock 4-2 defeat at home to Osasuna, many believe that club president Enrique Cerezo will wield the axe, even though the side are still very much in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
According to Sport, Cerezo is aware that another era at the club has come to an end and it is time for a drastic makeover. Sporting director Garcia Pitarch has reportedly already started looking for new coaches after being secretly informed that Resino will not continue beyond this season.
