Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer signed a one-year contract extension with Premier League club Fulham on Friday.

Schwarzer, 36, joined Fulham on a two-year contract from Middlesbrough last year and helped the London club finish seventh in the Premier League to qualify for the Europa League.

Schwarzer’s performances also earned him the club’s player of the season award and he has now been handed a new deal which ties him to Craven Cottage until 2011.

“The club is delighted to announce that Mark Schwarzer has signed a one-year extension to his contract with Fulham – keeping him at the club until the summer of 2011,” a statement on Fulham’s website announced.
