(GSM) – Mark Schwarzer is set to sign a new contract at Fulham, according to Fulham manager Mark Hughes.

Schwarzer was poised to move to Arsenal for £4million but the switch was blocked by the goalkeeper’s club.

Despite last summer’s failed bid, transfer speculation still followed the Australia international.

However, Hughes has now confirmed that the 38-year-old is set to commit his future to the club.

“He was obviously very flattered by the interest,” said Hughes.

“We’re delighted that he’s decided to stay here and we can move forward now.”

Schwarzer will have the chance to show Arsenal what they are missing when Fulham travel to Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
