Schweinsteiger: Freiburg clash is ´must-win´

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has labelled his side’s clash against Freiburg on Saturday as a must-win match.

Bayern were overtaken at the top of the league by Bayer Leverkusen, after they won 4-1 at Augsburg on Friday, increasing the importance of the clash at the Allianz Arena.

Schweinsteiger is insistent that if his side are to win the title they must work equally hard each match, regardless of who they are playing.

“We need to win against Freiburg at home,” Schweinsteiger said.

“That’s very important. But we haven’t reached our goal yet, and for that we need to work hard every game.”

“When it come to matches like this weekend’s one against Freiburg – if you don’t win those games it is very bad because games like that can easily have a huge impact on who finishes top at the end of the year.”

Bayern will return to the top of the league if they get all three points against the 13th-placed Freiburg.
