Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is likely to return from illness to face Nuremberg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The Germany international was rested for Wednesday’s 6-0 DFB Pokal win over Ingolstadt after suffering from a cold, and there were doubts about his availability for this weekend’s clash at the Allianz Arena.
However, Schweinsteiger resumed regular training on Thursday and is set to be included in head coach Jupp Heynckes’ match squad for their derby battle.
Bayern will be looking to return to winning ways after last week’s surprising 2-1 away defeat against Hannover, with a repeat of their 3-0 win last time out against Nuremberg at the Allianz Arena in November last year a desirable result for Heynckes’ men.
