Bastian Schweinsteiger has played down the suspension of three players for Bayern Munich’s Champions League final against Chelsea.
Luiz Gustavo, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba will all miss the game at Bayern’s Allianz Arena after picking up yellow cards in the second leg of the semi-final with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last month.
Chelsea have absentees of their own, with John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles and Ramires all banned for the final.
And their opponents’ disadvantage means Schweinsteiger does not believe that Bayern will be unduly affected.
“It would definitely be better to have everyone available,” he said.
“But some people are not able to participate in the final.
“We’ve already played in a Champions League final before and we each have a few suspended players so I don’t think it makes much of a difference.
“Luiz Gustavo has become a very important player; he’s fast and good at one-on-ones, as we saw in Madrid. He’s an excellent player and we’ll miss him, as we will Holger Badstuber and David Alaba.
“But we have solutions. We’ll see how it works out without them.”
