(GSM) – Internazionale chairman Massimo Moratti has dropped a hinted that the Serie A giants could make a move for Bayern München midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The European champions have long been linked in a move for the Germany international and reports emanating from Italy claim Inter are ready to make a move for the 26-year-old.

Schweinsteiger’s future at Bayern has been the subject of speculation for the last few months with the player’s current deal due to expire in 2012 and no contract agreed as yet.

Moratti is a huge admirer of Schweinsteiger and has admitted he has enquired about his availability in the past.

“Already a time ago I have asked Bayern Munich about his availability.

“Recently at the World Cup I noticed he has even become an even better player.”
