(GSM) – Bayern München defeated Fiorentina in the first leg of their eight final clash but Bastian Schweinsteiger wasn’t pleased with his side’s performance.
“We’ve not met our own expectations and we’ll need to do better than that in the second leg,” said Schweinsteiger on the official Bayern München website.
“Fiorentina were tactically disciplined, but we didn’t create enough chances. It was a bit better after half-time.
“We really should have made it 3-1, but ultimately we have to be pleased with the 2-1 win, which is a better position than a 1-1 draw. We never succeeded in keeping possession and knocking it about.
“We gave away possession too often, that has to improve. But Fiorentina have to win, and we’re always good for an away goal.”
