Palmeiras coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has publicly asked fans of the club to contribute money for the signing of Wesley from Werder Bremen.
The former Chelsea coach wants the supporters to participate by donating more to the My Own Player (MOP) initiative, which is some way short of the total amount owed to the German side.
“I am expecting him. I even made an appeal to our fans.” Scolari told GloboEsporte.
“Wesley is needed, a player who operates in three, four positions, has the quality, and was well received by the players.”
“If I can make an appeal to the fans, to continue donating and we achieve, at least, the first payment. We will have a very large addition for our future.”
Should Palmeiras fail to make the payments, Wesley may have to return to Germany and remain a Bremen player.
