Dundee United routed Dundee 3-0 on the back of three first-half goals at Tannadice Park in Scottish Premier League action on Sunday.
Gavin Gunning’s opening goal in the 19th minute was followed by two strikes in three minutes from striker Johnny Russell to clinch victory for the home side.
Russell netted his first strike in the 35th minute with a shot in to bottom-right corner, while his second came three minutes later after a finish from outside the area.
His match-winning performance was, however, tainted by a red card in the 72nd minute for violent conduct.
The last 20 minutes were played with 10 men on both sides after Dundee captain Stephen O’Donnell was also red-carded.
A clash between Russell and O’Donnell saw a melee break out and the pair was sent off by referee Calum Murray.
Dundee will face Ross County in their next league match, while United play reigning champions Celtic.
