Kilmarnock have recorded their first win of the Scottish Premier League season with a 4-1 thrashing of Hibernian on Sunday.
Forward Paul Heffernan struck a brace for Kenny Shiels’ team at Rugby Park as they moved into fourth as one of five undefeated teams.
The hosts only needed three minutes to open the scoring as Heffernan fired past Graham Stack in the Hibernian goal.
Hibernian were level after a quarter of an hour as Scotland international Garry O’Connor produced a delicate finish to make it 1-1.
They had only themselves to blame for going into the break behind as defender Paul Hanlon diverted a cutback from Kilmarnock winger James Dayton into his own net.
Dayton made it 3-1 on 65 minutes when he curled a left-footed free-kick into the top corner, leaving Stack unmoved.
Heffernan completed his double soon after and he should have had a hat-trick, only to hit the crossbar from six yards with an open goal to aim at.
