Celtic have recorded a 2-1 win over Motherwell to move into second in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday.
Michael Higdon put Motherwell ahead on 11 minutes at Fir Park, but Anthony Stokes responded for the visitors soon after.
Celtic substitute Gary Hooper snatched a win for the visitors late on, before Tim Clancy was sent off for Motherwell.
As a result, Celtic leapfrog Motherwell into second on goal difference, relieving some of the pressure on boss Neil Lennon.
The hosts opened the scoring early on as Higdon glanced in a header from a Nicky Law cross.
Celtic’s response was almost immediate with Stokes heading in at the back post after Georgios Samaras nodded on a Kris Commons corner.
In a heated affair, both shot-stoppers, Darren Randolph and Fraser Forster, were forced into good saves after the interval.
Lennon’s men found a vital 80th-minute winner with Stokes handing Hooper the easiest of finishes after cutting in a pass from the left.
Clancy was given his marching orders soon after for kicking out at Hooper, and Motherwell failed to put any scares through the Celtic camp late in the contest.
