Rangers extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League to seven points after beating Kilmarnock 2-0 on Tuesday.
The reigning Scottish champions put in a dominant second-half performance at Ibrox, with Nikica Jelavic and Gregg Wylde scoring within two minutes of each other as Rangers secured a comfortable victory.
After a scoreless first half, Croatia striker Jelavic made the breakthrough on 64 minutes with a side-footed finish from close range after a free kick from Steven Davis.
Kilmarnock nearly pulled a goal back almost immediately when midfielder Gary Harkins hit the crossbar with a header, but Rangers swiftly counter-attacked and scored at the other end, with Wylde applying the finishing touch after good build up work from US international Maurice Edu.
The win moves Rangers seven points clear of arch-rivals Celtic – although Ally McCoist’s side have played an extra match – while Kilmarnock sit seventh.
