Cillian Sheridan scored a brace as St Johnstone climbed to eighth in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-0 win over Hearts on Sunday.
The home victory saw Derek McInnes’ side extend their impressive unbeaten run to five league matches.
But the McDiarmid Park outfit were expected to struggle against Hearts, who entered the match in fourth position on the table.
Paulo Sergio’s side struggled though, and Irish forward Sheridan bagged the opener after 30 minutes.
Sheridan, who had not scored for his club since April 2010, doubled his account 10 minutes into the second half and there was no response from Hearts, who saw their own five-match unbeaten streak in the league ended.
