A week from hell continued for Rangers on Saturday, as they suffered 1-0 defeat at home to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League.
The giants of the Scottish game were docked 10 points for entering administration this week, after it was revealed they owed as much as 49 million pounds in unpaid taxes to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
There was no respite from their woes on the pitch, as Dean Shiels’ 12th-minute goal proved enough for Kilmarnock to come away from Ibrox with all three points.
Rangers played out the entire second half with 10 men after Sasa Papac was sent off on 42 minutes.
Elsewhere, Motherwell defeated Hearts 3-0 at home, despite going down a man down in their match at Fir Park.
Andy Webster’s own-goal and a Jamie Murphy strike made it 2-0 to Motherwell by half-time.
They went down to 10 men when Keith Lasley was sent off six minutes into the second half, but Nicky Law added a third goal to make the result safe with 26 minutes left to play.
Nick Ross’ equaliser on 73 minutes helped Inverness Caledonian Thistle record a 1-1 draw in their visit to bottom side Dunfermline, who had led through Joe Cardle’s goal one minute before the half-time break.
Finally, St Mirren earned a point with a 0-0 draw in their match away to Dundee United.
