Season over for Peru´s Vargas

Fiorentina’s problems mounted on Wednesday when the club announced that Peru wing-back Juan Vargas will miss the Serie A run-in.

Vargas injured his knee ligaments in training on Tuesday and will be out for two to three weeks, according to the club’s website, meaning he will miss the last two games of the season.

It has been a hugely disappointing season for La Viola who had secured top four finishes and Champions League football in the previous two years but are down in ninth this season and cannot qualify for next season’s Europa League.
