The MLS side Seattle Sounders are looking for a midfield boost ahead of the new season and, according to the reports coming from the local press, they are closing in on Magnus Eikrem.
Norwegian international Magnus Eikrem is remembered for his spell with Manchester United and is expected to join Sounders for Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) this week.
Eikrem arrives at the MLS as a back-to-back Norwegian champion with Malmo FF of the Allsvenskan first division.
The 27-year-old midfielder boasts a wealth of experience that is expected to help Seattle Sounders move forward following consecutive MLS Cup finals.
The deal for Eikrem is pending standard receipt of the player’s International Transfer Certificate and P1 visa. The papyrology is expected to be completed during the week when Seattle Sounders are expected to promote their new signing.
Magnus Eikrem started his professional career with Manchester United but failed to make a single appearance for the Premier League giants.
He also played for Molde, Heerenveen, Cardiff City and Malmo.
