Competition: MLS
Market: Seattle Sounders double chance
Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport
Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways in the early hours of Friday morning, Seattle will make the trip to the Q2 Stadium when they face off against Austin.
Starting with the hosts, while Austin might have stunned many across the MLS as they picked up that shock 4-1 romp against Portland when opening July, it appears that could have just been a minor bounce for America’s latest franchise. Last seen on domestic duties slumping back to losing ways with a deserved 2-0 defeat against Los Angeles on home soil, Head Coach Josh Wolff saw his side once again struggle last time out. Using their break to squeeze in a friendly contest against Mexcian outfit Tigres UANL, Austin were hit with a 3-1 loss at the Q2 Stadium. Firmly battling it out at the foot of the Western Conference, Friday’s hosts have managed to record just a single victory in any of their last 10 straight contests, a run that stems all the way back to May 2nd.
As for the visitors, while Seattle might have put on what was a rugged display away at Minnesota United last weekend, it wasn’t enough to keep their remarkable unbeaten run alive. Eventually hit with a 1-0 defeat on the road, that was The Greens’ first MLS defeat from any of their opening 14 domestic contests so far this season. However, despite their blip outside of Washington last time out, Brian Schmetzer’s men are still leading the race at the top of the Western Conference. Holding a three-point buffer over Sporting KC, the mood in their camp should still be at a real high. With leading marksman Raul Ruidiaz already racking up 10 MLS strikes since opening the 2021 campaign, The Sounders certainly appear at attractive odds when they travel to the Q2 Stadium on Friday.
