Sebastien Bassong looking to leave Tottenham
French defender Sebastien Bassong has expressed his desire to leave Tottenham in search of first team football.
The 25-year-old has been unable to hold on to a regular place in Harry Redknapp’s side and he now reveals he wants to be playing on more regular basis.
“I will not deny that I am looking for more playing time,” Bassong was quoted as saying in France Football.
However, Spurs have big problems at the back and may not be willing to let the player leave in January.
“It is true that Tottenham have defensive concerns for one reason or another. But here, everyone understands my situation. Everyone should benefit in the end.”
Bassong insists that there is nothing concrete in reported interest from Lyon and Lille.
“These are just rumours for the time being. There is no need to add fuel to reports.”
The Frenchman says that he is likely to stay in the Premier League even after leaving Tottenham.
“A championship that attracts me? The one in which I am now. I really like it. Personally, I think it is the best championship.
”The Premier League might be my first choice. But, after that, it will depend on the proposed challenge and demand.”
Juventus hotshot in talks with Roma
The agent of Juventus full-back Paolo De Ceglie claims that Roma and several other clubs are interested in his client.
The 25-year-old started the season as first choice left-back, but soon lost his starting place as Antonio Conte decided to move Giorgio Chiellini to the left hand side.
De Ceglie is now pondering his options and his representative reveals that Roma and Juventus have talked about the player’s future.
“I know that Roma and Juventus have discussed De Ceglie, quite apart from the talks that happened when Marco Borriello moved on loan to Turin,” agent Carlo Pallavicino told Tele Radio Stereo.
“They probably took place during the negotiations for David Pizarro. DeCeglie’s contract expires in a year and it is our intention to wait for Juventus to call a meeting to discuss the renewal.
“The boy is wanted by many clubs and not just Roma. He is very admired by Inter coach Claudio Ranieri, who during his time at Juventus gave Paolo a lot of playing time.”
De Ceglie featured in seven Serie A games this season, but only started four league games this term.
Stuttgart interest in Ibisevic confirmed
VFB Stuttgart have launched an assault on Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic, Bild has revealed.
The Swabians are hoping to sign a new striker in January and they were hot on the trail of Wolfsburg forward Srdjan Lakic.
However, after they found out that the Croat was too expensive, Stuttgart turned their attention towards Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic.
The player’s agent has confirmed that Stuttgart are indeed interested.
“There is interest from other clubs and VFB (Stuttgart),” Ibisevic’s representative Andreas Sadlo told Bild.
“It depends on the club, whether they are satisfied, only then is the player available.”
The Bosnian striker has one and a half years left on his deal with Hoffenheim, meaning that he won’t be too expensive should the club chiefs decide to sell.
Stuttgart plan to fund Ibisevic transfer by selling midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic, who is wanted by a number of Serie A clubs.
