Orlando Pirates winger Tlou Segolela says he is happy with a two-year contract that will tie him to the club until the end of June 2014.
While he told KickOff.com that he is very eager to help the Pirates in their title defence, he admits the prospect of competing in the lucrative CAF Champions League this year motivated him to extend his contract.
“Yes, I am happy with the two-year contract and I am happy that I will continue playing for this club,” Segolela said.
“I am very excited about playing in the Champions League because this is a great chance for us to shine and maybe attract the interest of European scouts and coaches.”
The winger said Pirates will be ready for Angolan champions Recreativo Libolo when the two sides meet in Port Elizabeth on February 19 in the first leg of their Champions League tie.
“We have been training well for the Angolans and we are in good shape. I think we also have to have the confidence in the ability of the team’s technical department,” he said.
“Our coach knows what he is doing and I am sure he has a plan that we will have to stick to when we play against the team from Angola. We will be at home so this should be an advantage.”
