(GSM) – Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos has restated his desire to leave the Emirates Stadium in order to find first-team football. Senderos wants to get back to first-team action as the World Cup approaches, with the Swiss defender hoping to make his nation’s World Cup squad
The Switzerland international, who spent last season on-loan at AC Milan, has only played seven games for the Gunners this season with South Africa 2010 looming.
The 24-year-old’s first team chances look slimmer than ever after Arsenal’s surprise January re-signing of veteran Sol Campbell.
“I want to go,” Senderos told The Sun. “I need to be playing ahead of the World Cup and I don’t want to play in the reserves any more. I really just want to leave.”
Senderos’ contract expires in the summer and Atletico Madrid are thought to be keen to sign him.
