Senegal are currently in FIFA’s spotlights as the African nation consider the selection of Issiar Dia, a former French youth player.
FIFA stressed that Dia, who was born in France and has actually played for the French Under-21 team, is not eligible for Senegal.
Dia does have the right to change his nationality, as he has yet to turn 21 and never represented the major national team, but FIFA do demand that this happens before actually representing the new country.
If Senegal choose to field Dia, they risk having points deducted in their World Cup 2010 campaign.
