(GSM) – Uefa Euro 2008-winning midfielder Marcos Senna could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks through a right thigh injury, according to his employers Villarreal.
The 34-year-old Brazilian-born, who was pivotal in Spain’s Euro 2008 win, suffered the injury in the Copa del Rey Last 16 first leg 0-0 draw with Valencia a week ago.
Senna, who failed to make it to Spain squad for the 2010 World Cup this year, returned to Brazil for Christmas and underwent medical tests there which revealed the extent of the injury.
