The owners of Serie A team Roma, the Sensi family, have released a statement naming investment banking firm Rothschild as an advisor in the imminent sale of the club.
Compagnia Italpetroli, the company that owns a controlling interest in Roma, and UniCredit, the club’s major creditors, have reached an agreement on the sale of the club.
A new company, Newco Roma, has been formed by Italpetroli and UniCredit to oversee the sale of the club, to which Rothschild will be an advisor.
Current president Rosella Sensi, whose family owns Italpetroli, will continue in her role until such time as a sale has been completed.
Roma are massively in debt and have been looking for a buyer for several years.
