While Sunday’s north London derby might steal most of this weekend’s headlines, we have a stacked schedule from across the continent.
Watching Italian icons Inter Milan mark their return from September’s international break on Sunday night, there are plenty of heavyweight showdowns on the cards.
On a Sunday schedule that includes Newcastle’s trip to Wolves, we have taken a look at some of the most intriguing betting markets that are available.
16:30 Wolves vs Newcastle
Left heartbroken last season as they eventually missed out on booking another famous European ticket, Newcastle haven’t shown any signs of a hangover since opening up the 2024/25 campaign. While there might have been plenty of recent scrutiny over Eddie Howe’s long-term future at St. James’ Park, the Magpies have come flying out of the traps this time around. Getting proceedings underway on August 17th with a gritty 1-0 victory at home against Premier League returners Southampton, the former Bournemouth boss has seen his squad muster seven points from just their first three top-flight appearances. Last seen heading into September’s international break with an eye-catching 2-1 victory at home against Tottenham, Newcastle should be relishing their return from the fortnight interval this weekend. Landing a routine 3-0 romp when they last met Sunday’s hosts back on March 2nd, Howe will be calling on a repeat performance in the Midlands.
Eventually limping their way to a bottom-half finish last season and still dealing with some real financial restrictions behind the scenes, Wolves have shown a string of issues since opening up the new campaign. Putting just a single point on the board and marking their return from September’s international break sat in the relegation zone, Gary O’Neil’s men have come under some increasing scrutiny. In fact, continuing on from last season, Wolves have recorded just a sole victory from any of their previous 13 Premier League appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to March 9th. Likewise, last seen at Molineux falling to an infamous 6-2 drumming at the hands of Chelsea, Sunday’s hosts have also gained a reputation for their extended issues on home soil. Losing five of their last six top-flight showdowns in front of their own supporters, O’Neil’s camp should have another stern challenge on their hands here.

19:45 Monza vs Inter Milan
Storming their way to a history-making 20th domestic crown last season and receiving a string of plaudits from across the continent, Inter Milan have only continued on from where they left off back in May. Last seen heading into September’s international break with another sensational performance as they stormed their way to a 4-0 romp at home against local rivals Atalanta, the Italian heavyweights mark their return on Sunday night leading the chase at the top of the Serie A standings. Remarkably losing just a pair of their 38 top-flight appearances last season, it is no secret that Simone Inzaghi’s camp are pencilled in as a standout contender to defend their domestic title this year. Already notching eight goals in their first three Serie A showdowns this time around, Inter Milan will certainly be smelling the chance to lay down another early marker when they return from September’s fortnight interval this weekend.
While some in Monza’s camp might have been dreaming of the chance to mount a shock top-half charge this season, the Biancorossi have drastically struggled to find any kind of stability. Signing off August with a worrying 1-0 loss at home against Genoa and failing to win any of their opening three Serie A appearances, Sunday’s hosts have certainly shown some extended struggles on either side of the summer break. Losing all of their final three top-flight matchups last season by an aggregate score of 5-1, it should also be noted that Alessandro Nesta have now failed to win any of their previous 12 consecutive Serie A showdowns. With that rut stemming all the way back to March 16th, Monza should also be concerned by their most recent battle against the defending champions. Hit with a 5-1 drumming when they welcomed Inter Milan to the Stadio Brianteo back on January 13th, Nesta’s squad couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge here.
