September 19th: Tuesday’s Daily Double – 7/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

With the Champions League group stages getting underway on Tuesday, we are certainly treated to a stacked midweek schedule.

Likewise, with a host of intriguing affairs from across England’s professional flights, there are plenty of eye-catching markets that are worth taking note of.

19:45 Port Vale vs Burton Albion

While Port Vale might have spent large spells of last season looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, Tuesday’s hosts have certainly come flying out of the traps this time around. Opening up the midweek fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them off the top of the League One table, the Valiants will be looking to make another statement of intent here.

Last seen over the weekend putting in another rugged performance as they claimed a 1-0 victory at home against Northampton, Andy Crosby’s side are riding what has been a stunning wave of momentum.

Along with extending on their League Cup adventure last month as they edged past Crewe, Tuesday’s hosts have now won each of their previous six appearances across all competitions.

On a similar note, it should also be highlighted that along with winning each of their last four League One showdowns, Port Vale have also mustered 16 points from their previous six third-tier appearances.

However, while the Valiants might be enjoying a remarkable start to the 2023/24 campaign, the same cannot be said for a struggling Burton.

Opening the midweek fixtures already sat in the drop zone, Tuesday’s guests are still waiting to collect a maiden League One victory and they are coming under increasing scrutiny.

Putting in another downbeat performance over the weekend as they suffered a routine 2-0 defeat at the hands of Barnsley, Dino Maamria’s side have also mustered just a pair of points from their opening seven third-tier outings.

Two sides who are already battling it out at opposite ends of the League One standings, we are backing a home win here.

20:00 Feyenoord vs Celtic

Making real history last season as they got their hands on a first Eredivisie crown since 2017, it is no secret that Feyenoord are in the midst of an extended purple patch. Despite opening up the 2023/24 campaign with back-to-back stalemates, Tuesday’s hosts have certainly come roaring back on either side of September’s international break.

Marking their return to top-flight duties over the weekend as they cruised their way to a stellar 6-1 romp at home against Heerenveen, the mood in Arne Slot’s camp remains at a red-hot high.

Likewise, heading into the fortnight interval with another rampant display as they claimed a 5-1 win away at Utrecht, the reigning Dutch giants have quickly gained a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third.

Winning each of their last three Eredivisie showdowns by an aggregate score of 17-3, Feyenoord will be smelling the chance to lay down an early marker when they open their Champions League adventure on Tuesday night.

On the flip side, while Celtic might already find themselves leading the chase at the top of the Premiership standings, the Scottish heavyweights will know that they face a stern challenge in midweek.

Facing a major uphill battle in their bid to find a route out of Group E this season, it should be highlighted that Brendan Rodgers’ men have continued to show some rather glaring Champions League struggles over their past few campaigns.

Including a routine 5-1 drumming when they travelled to Spanish icons Real Madrid 10 months ago for their last European showdown on foreign soil, Celtic have failed to win any of their previous nine Champions League appearances – a run that stems all the way back to August 2020.
