September 21st: Saturday’s Premier League Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With another stacked Premier League schedule on the cards this weekend, the likes of Liverpool and Aston Villa will steal centre stage.

Watching Chelsea travel across the capital on Saturday lunchtime as they meet West Ham, we have eight Premier League fixtures throughout Saturday afternoon.

For those of you looking to stick on a Saturday flutter, we have taken a look at a pair of the most intriguing Premier League betting tips.

12:30 West Ham vs Chelsea

Marking their return from September’s international break with a gritty 1-0 victory away at Bournemouth last weekend, Chelsea will be looking to keep up their recent charge on Saturday lunchtime. Although many around west London might have been shocked over the summer as Enzo Maresca arrived at Stamford Bridge, the former Leicester boss should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Storming their way to a sensational 6-2 romp away at Wolves in their most recent showdown on the road, Chelsea have now collected seven points from their previous three Premier League appearances. Likewise, claiming a thumping 5-0 victory when they welcomed their London rivals to SW6 back on May 5th, Maresca’s men will be desperately seeking a repeat display this weekend. With their sights set on securing a top-four return this season, the Blues could be smelling a potential opportunity here.

While West Ham might have snatched a dramatic last-gasp 1-1 stalemate away at Fulham last weekend, the Hammers are still waiting to find their feet under new boss Julen Lopetegui. Opening the new campaign with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Aston Villa on August 17th, the former Wolves boss has seen his squad muster just a single victory from any of their first four Premier League appearances. Heading into September’s international break with a routine 3-1 defeat at home against Manchester City, Saturday’s hosts have also gained an unwanted reputation for their glaring struggles at the back. In fact, continuing on from last season, West Ham have remarkably recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their previous 22 consecutive Premier League matchups – a run that stems all the way back to January 2nd.

15:00 Aston Villa vs Wolves

Marking their iconic Champions League return with a 3-0 romp away at Swiss giants Young Boys earlier in the week, Aston Villa are in the midst of a famous fairytale. Producing a remarkable comeback on home soil last weekend as they eventually snatched a 3-2 victory against Everton, Unai Emery’s men have continued to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent. Getting proceedings underway last month with an eye-catching 2-1 win away at West Ham, the former Arsenal boss has seen his high-flying squad win four of their first five appearances across all competitions. Excited by the prospect of making a return to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, Emery’s side are rightfully pencilled in as a standout contender this weekend. It should also be noted, when Villa last met Wolves back on March 30th, they claimed a routine 2-0 victory on home soil.

Watching their EFL Cup adventure come to an end earlier in the week as they suffered a 3-2 defeat away at Brighton, Wolves have continued to show a string of issues on either side of the summer interval. Marking their return from September’s international break with a dramatic collapse on home soil as they fell to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Newcastle, there could be some mounting pressure on Gary O’Neil’s shoulders. Failing to win any of their first four Premier League appearances so far this season and with their glaring issues underlined by a 6-2 defeat against Chelsea last month, the ex-Bournemouth boss will be bracing himself for another stern examination on Saturday afternoon. In fact, continuing on from last season, O’Neil’s side have recorded just a single win from any of their previous 15 matchups against Premier League opposition across all competitions.
