September 24th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

While it might be the Nations League that steals center stage this weekend, we have a string of eye-catching affairs from across the footballing globe. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday September 24th

BST 15:00 Bradford City vs AFC Wimbledon

Despite being disappointed to have settled for a bottom-half finish last season, Bradford have really come flying out of the traps this time around. Leading the play-off chase here and knowing that another victory on Saturday could see them break into the automatic promotion places, Mark Hughes’ side are enjoying a stellar run of form. Last seen picking up a thumping 3-0 victory at home against Stevenage, the one-time Southampton boss has seen his side gain plenty of plaudits from across League Two. Skyrocketing their way up the table, the Bantams have now won each of their last four straight appearances and will be smelling another golden chance here. Likewise, with their extended purple patch underlined by a shock 3-1 romp at home against Sheffield Wednesday, Bradford also have their own attacking talisman enjoying a real free-scoring run. Including a brace against Stevenage last weekend, the 31-year-old has now bagged 11 strikes in his previous 10 outings across all formats. Battling it out in the Golden Boot chase, the ex-Mansfield striker will be looking to exploit a struggling AFC Wimbledon here. Last seen on League Two duties getting hit with a 2-1 loss away at Carlisle, the Wombles have lost each of their last four fourth-tier contests on the bounce. Looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, it should also be noted that Saturday’s guests hold the third-worst defensive tally so far this season.

Tip: Andy Cook to score anytime @ 13/8

15:00 Maidstone vs Chesterfield

Only continuing on what has been a stellar run of form since opening the 2022/23 campaign, Chesterfield find themselves leading the chase at the top of the National League table. While Saturday’s guests might have been last seen having to settle for a lively 2-2 draw away at Yeovil, Paul Cook’s side are tipped as a leading promotion pick this season. In fact, the Spireites are unbeaten in each of their opening nine fifth-tier showdowns. With their extended purple patch highlighted by a 3-2 victory at home against Southend on September 13th, the Derbyshire-based outfit will be smelling another golden chance this weekend. Gaining a string of plaudits from across the National League, Chesterfield have also impressed with their free-scoring displays in the final third. Now bagging at least a pair of strikes in their last seven straight appearances, Cook’s side will be looking to cash in on a struggling Maidstone on Saturday afternoon. While the fifth-tier returners might have found a much-needed boost last month, the Kent-based side have come crashing back down to earth. Last seen getting hit with a routine 3-0 drumming away at Bromley, the Stones have collected just a single point from their last three outings. With that run also underlined by a dreadful 4-1 defeat away at Gateshead on September 3rd, we’re backing an away victory from a high-flying Chesterfield here.

Tip: Chesterfield win & Over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

17:00 Slovenia vs Norway

While Norway might have missed out on the chance to book their World Cup ticket earlier in the year, the Lions are enjoying a real Nations League purple patch. Last seen heading into the summer break with an action-packed 3-2 victory against Sweden on June 12th, the Lions should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Mustering 10 points from their opening four League B matchups, Saturday’s guests have also picked up some notable scalps. Looking to lay down another marker on their return to action here, Norway also have an attacking icon who is enjoying another remarkable free-scoring run. Only continuing to break a string of records since arriving at Premier League giants Manchester City this summer, Erling Haaland has already racked up 14 goals in his first 14 appearances across all formats. Likewise, finding the net in each of his last seven outings on the spin, the ex-Borussia Dortmund striker will spearhead Ståle Solbakken’s charge here. On the flip side, while Slovenia might have been last seen heading into the summer break with a lively 2-2 draw at home against Serbia, Saturday’s hosts are in the midst of a downbeat run of form. Yet to pick up a single Nations League victory from their opening four attempts, Jan Oblak’s side have picked up just a single win from their previous nine contests across all formats.

Tip: Erling Haaland to score anytime @ 19/20
