September 29th: Sunday’s European Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While Tottenham’s trip to Manchester United might steal most of Sunday’s attention, we have a heavyweight schedule from across the continent.

Watching a high-flying Aston Villa look to extend on their remarkable purple patch, we also have some noteworthy battles for the likes of Spain and Germany.

With a stacked schedule on the cards throughout Sunday afternoon, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing European betting tips.

14:00 Ipswich vs Aston Villa

Making real history last season as they stormed their way to an iconic top-four return, Aston Villa find themselves at the heart of what has become a real fairytale. Only continuing to receive a string of plaudits since Unai Emery’s arrival last year, the former Arsenal boss will be calling on his high-flying squad to lay down another marker this weekend. Getting their famous Champions League adventure underway earlier in the month with a stellar 3-0 romp away at Swiss giants Young Boys, Aston Villa are riding a major wave of momentum. Last seen in Premier League action mounting a comeback on home soil as they secured a 3-1 victory against local rivals Wolves, Emery’s men have won six of their first seven appearances across all competitions. Continuing to shine with their performances in the final third, Sunday’s guests should be smelling a golden opportunity here.

While Ipswich might be enjoying their own remarkable rise, Kieran McKenna’s men have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their Premier League status. Despite eventually snatching a stunning last-gasp equaliser away at Southampton last weekend, the Blues have failed to muster a single victory from any of their first five top-flight appearances. Shockingly crashing out of the EFL Cup last last month after suffering penalties heartbreak away at League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon, Sunday’s hosts should be bracing themselves for another stern examination at Portman Road. Expected to be at the heart of a relegation scrap this season, Ipswich should also be concerned by a downbeat recent record against Aston Villa. Including a 2-1 loss when they last met the top-four contenders back in January 2019, McKenna’s side have collected just a single point from any of their last four meetings.

14:30 Kiel vs Eintracht Frankfurt

While Eintracht Frankfurt might have been left frustrated earlier in the week as they opened their Europa League adventure with an action-packed 3-3 stalemate against Czech outfit Plzen, Sunday’s guests are enjoying a real Bundesliga purple patch. Marking their return from September’s international break with an eye-catching 2-1 victory away at Wolfsburg, the Eagles have won all of their previous three domestic appearances. Signing off August with an early statement as they claimed a 3-1 romp against Hoffenheim, Dino Toppmoller’s men open this weekend’s fixtures battling it out in the top-four chase. Although Frankfurt might be seeking some crucial defensive resole, the former Bayern Munich coach will be excited by his side’s performances in the final third. In fact, pencilled in as a standout contender here, the Eagles have registered 10 goals in just their last four matchups across all competitions.

Although Kiel might have sprung a real domestic upset last season as they secured a Bundesliga return, the Storks have drastically struggled with a dramatic leap up in class. Marking their famous top-flight adventure with a lively 3-2 loss away at Hoffenheim on August 24th, Marcel Rapp’s men are billed as a landslide relegation contender this time around. Marking their return from September’s international break with a nightmare performance on home soil as they slumped to a 6-1 drumming at the hands of German giants Bayern Munich, Sunday’s hosts have collected just a single point from any of their first four Bundesliga appearances. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat rock-bottom of the table, Kiel have also gained a reputation for their glaring defensive struggles. Already shipping 13 goals since opening up the new campaign, Rapp’s side appear to have an almighty uphill battle on their hands.
