Serbia beat Faroe Islands 0-2 to extend their lead in Group 7 of the European World Cup qualifiers.

The first half had almost come to an end when Milan Jovanovic put the Serbians in the lead, and Neven Subotic doubled the advantage two minutes after the hour.

With 18 points from seven games, Serbia are eight points ahead of France who have two games in hand. Lithuania, Austria and Romania still form a theoretical threat.

The next match in this group is to be played in August, when France play away to Faroe Islands.
