New Serbia coach Radomir Antic has launched the battle for Barcelona striker, who is yet to make a choice on which country to represent in the future.
Krkic was selected for Spain’s friendly with Denmark last week, but never left the bench. This means that he is still free to choose for Serbia.
Antic has a good relationship with Bojan’s Serbian father, who has the exact same name and has been working as Barcelona scout since 1997.
“I talked to him [Bojan Krkic Sr.] about the possibility of Bojan playing for Serbia, which would be a great honour to us,” said Antic at his presentation on Monday.
“He is an extremely talented guy,” he continued. “He’s not only a great footballer, but a good person of excellent education and culture as well.”
Bojan, who turns 18 on Thursday, had his first-team debut with Barcelona in 2007 and impressed with ten goals in 31 appearances, many of which as substitute.
