Serge Aurier on Monaco radar

French giants Monaco are eyeing a summer swoop for Toulouse defender Serge Aurier, reports L’Equipe.

The Principality club are not exactly spoilt for choices at right-back and they believe the Ivorian would be an excellent addition to the squad.

Monaco officials have enquired about the player’s availability with Toulouse with a view of luring him to Stade Louis II this summer.

Premier League side Arsenal were believed to be leading the chase, but they seem to have decided to sign Mathieu Debuchy instead, whilst Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, Swansea, QPR and West Ham remain in the mix.

Serge Aurier, 21, has enjoyed a stunning season with le Tefece, having managed 6 goals and as many assists in 34 league outings, albeit earning no less than 11 yellow cards in the process.

The talented full-back featured in every minute of Ivory Coast’s World Cup campaign, but could not help the Elephants make it to the knockout stages.
