Competition: World Cup
Market: Sergio Aguero to score anytime
Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365
Lionel Messi must shake off a disappointing opening to the World Cup as Argentina look ahead to a tough test against Group D rivals Croatia.
For Jorge Sampaoli’s Argentina side, despite being tipped by many as favorites to top Group C, The 2014 finalists must bounce back after only landing a 1-1 draw against Iceland, even with Lionel Messi missing a second-half penalty. Along with their iconic captain, Argentina will also be looking for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero to carry on his eye-catching form. Along with scoring 21 Premier League goals and finding the net against Iceland in their opening matchup, Aguero has now scored in his last four consecutive appearances for The Blue and Whites.
As for Zlatko Dalić’s Croatia side, after securing a 2-0 win over Nigeria and giving The Croats a chance to secure back-to-back World Cup wins for the first time since 1998, the Blazers currently sit atop of Group D. However, while they will be filled with confidence, Dalic’s side do boast an awful record against South American sides at major tournaments. The Croats have lost all four of their World Cup games against South American opposition.
