A late Simone Pepe goal against 10-man Lazio has kept Juventus in the hunt for the final Champions League place in the Serie A.

Italy winger Pepe’s deflected effort in the 88th minute, which handed the away side the three points, was preceded by Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma’s red card seven minutes earlier.

In spite of the defeat, the Rome outfit remain in fourth and are favourites to land the final qualifying berth for the Champions League.

Juve lie in the Europa League places, but are only are only four points adrift of Lazio.

The Turin side have now been unbeaten in seven outings.
