Siena striker Mattia Destro has revealed his desire to play for Napoli one day in the future.
The 20-year-old striker has had a bright start to the season, having been scoring goals on regular basis for both Siena and Italy Under-21 side.
Following some scintillating displays, Destro has been linked with a number of Serie A giants, but Siena chiefs are adamant he will stay at least until the summer.
With Siena preparing for their weekend’s clash with Napoli, the young forward used the opportunity to reveal his love for the Azzurri.
“I’d like to one day play at the San Paolo in Napoli’s shirt because the Azzurri have a squad full of champions,” the former Inter youngster told Radio Crc.
However, Destro quickly moved to say that he is fully focused on doing well at Siena.
“Sunday will be an important game for Siena, who need the points. We will face a great team but we will still give it our all.
“Napoli have some very strong players, especially in attack. For now, I want to only do well for Siena and collect as many points as possible and as quickly as possible in order to reach our goal.”
The highly rated forward believes his strike partner Emanuele Calaio helps brings out the best in him.
“Playing alongside Emanuele Calaio makes me happy, with him I can express myself.”
The Italy Under-21 international featured in 11 Serie A games this season, bagging 5 goals in the process.
