Serie A trio on PSG radar
Le 10 Sport is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are showing interest in Matteo Darmian, Ignazio Abate and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
The Saints are in the market for a new right-sided defender considering that coach Laurent Blanc has not been impressed by either Serge Aurier or Gregory van der Wiel.
The mere fact that centre-back Marquinhos has been used on the right hand side of late is enough to suggest the boss does not trust his current right-back options.
As a result, PSG will be signing a high-profile defender in the summer transfer window, with three names currently on their hit-list.
AC Milan full-back Ignazio Abate appears to be high on the wish list, partly due to the fact that his contract at San Siro is set to expire.
Meanwhile, his Serie A rivals Matteo Darmian and Stephan Lichtsteiner are also closely followed by the Ligue 1 champions.
Napoli, Milan vying for Valdifiori
Italian giants Napoli and AC Milan are locked in the battle for Napoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
After helping the Azzurri return to the elite division, the 28-year-old has largely impressed in his first ever Serie A season.
As a result, the experienced midfielder has become one of the most sought-after footballers in Italy, having caught the eye of both Napoli and AC Milan.
And while the Stadio San Paolo outfit recently submitted a €6 million proposal for Valdifiori, AC Milan officials aim to hijack their bid.
The Rossoneri are believed to have set their sights on Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri as they want him to replace under-fire Pippo Inzaghi at San Siro, but they will pursue their interest in Valdifiori regardless of the outcome of said chase.
The talented footballer has started 25 Serie A matches for the Azzurri this season and produced six assists in the process.
Real eyeing Sporting starlet
Real Madrid are reportedly keeping close tabs on Sporting Lisbon full-back Ricardo Esagio, O Jogo can reveal.
Los Blancos are expected to cash in on Alvaro Arbeloa at the end of the season, while Raphael Varane has been linked with a summer exit as well.
Real Madrid are, therefore, in the market for defensive reinforcements and the 21-year-old full-back is one of the players they are looking at.
Ricardo Esagio is capable of covering almost all positions on the right hand side and he is currently on loan with Academica de Coimbra.
The 21-year-old has started seven league fixtures this season having joined Academica at the end of January.
His suitors Real Madrid face Barcelona at Camp Nou in the potential La Liga title decider and los Blancos are 11/4 to emerge victorious.
