Unbeaten Juventus remain three points clear of AC Milan atop Serie A after both won comfortably on Sunday.
Antonio Conte’s league leaders were untroubled as Mirko Vucinic netted a brace in their 4-0 thrashing of relegation-threatened Novara.
Novara were only able to keep the visitors out until the 16th minute, when Vucinic deftly flicked in an Andrea Pirlo free-kick.
Juve doubled their advantage five minutes before the break as Emanuele Giaccherini whipped in a superb cross to the back post, where the unmarked Marco Borriello nodded home.
Borriello missed an easy chance after the interval before Arturo Vidal made it 3-0, placing home a rebound.
The hosts were outclassed throughout the encounter and Vucinic struck the fourth just after the hour mark, powering in a rebound after Giaccherini’s shot was saved as Juve stayed on track to win the title.
AC Milan put in an assured performance at Stadio Artemio Franchi to secure a 4-1 victory against Siena and keep the pressure on Juventus.
It took the visitors 26 minutes to get their opener as Antonio Cassano tapped in after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s cross was spilled by Siena goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic.
Massimiliano Allegri’s team made it 2-0 just three minutes later as Ibrahimovic received a pass from Cassano, shrugged off his marker and powered a strike into the bottom corner.
Despite their dominance, Milan were given a scare seven minutes before the end when substitute Erjon Bogdani pulled a goal back for the hosts.
But the win was sealed by Antonio Nocerino, who capitalised on a mistake in midfield before finishing. Ibrahimovic rounded out the scoring with his 26th goal of the season.
Inter Milan remain in the hunt for the final Champions League place after coming from behind to beat relegated Cesena 2-1 at the San Siro.
Luca Ceccarelli gave the visitors a shock 57th-minute lead, only to see it cancelled out soon after when Steve von Bergen netted an own goal.
Mauro Zarate struck the winner in the 72nd minute as Inter moved level on points with third-placed Lazio.
Lecce are still a point from safety after suffering a 2-1 loss at home to Parma, as Genoa, who are fourth from bottom, failed to capitalise as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Bologna.
Goals from German Denis and Giacomo Bonaventura gave Atalanta a 2-0 win over struggling Fiorentina, who had Stevan Jovetic miss a penalty.
