Juventus and Udinese returned to winning ways in Saturday’s Serie A action with both side’s posting comfortable victories.
Juventus snapped a three-game losing streak with their 3-1 win over Cagliari at the Stadio San Elia, thanks to a brace from former Cagliari striker Alessandro Matri.
Matri gave Juve the lead after 20 minutes when he latched onto a through-ball from Milos Krasic and blasted a low shot past Michael Agazzi in the Cagliari goal.
The hosts equalised six minutes after half-time through a Robert Acquafresca strike but Matri was on hand again to restore Juve’s advantage on 75 minutes before Luca Toni scored a third for the visitors six minutes from full-time to seal the win.
Elsewhere, Udinese bounced back well from their midweek draw against Bologna when they cruised to a 2-0 home win over Sampdoria to climb to fifth place.
Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for the hosts in the 18th minute before Antonio Di Natale wrapped up the match five minutes before half-time with his 100th Serie A goal for Udinese, giving his side their fifth win from their past seven league games.
