The future of OGC Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri has been the subject of a number of news and media speculations over the past few months. Now, Sky Sports report the midfielder’s agent is set to travel to Italy to continue working on a deal that would see his client move to Naples.
Seri’s current deal with Nice expires in 12 months, and it reportedly contains a buyout clause in the region of £35million. Although it seems at this point that Napoli will be his eventual destination, Sky Sports say their sources believe the Ivory Coast international would prefer a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal were linked with a move for Seri for a long time, but given that signing Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira looks imminent for the Gunners, it’s likely their interest in Seri will be withdrawn when the deal is confirmed. Chelsea are also interested in securing his services but they’re unlikely to act on the interest until their managerial situation is resolved. By that time, Seri might well be a Napoli player.
