Anyone who says that the English Premier League has the monopoly on the great games of football will have had their eyes opened if they watched the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Sevilla last night.
What a game that was! Sevilla take an early lead, Real equalise and then Sevilla add two more before half time. The second half sees a great fightback from the home side and two goals in two minutes midway through the half bring them back level. Will they get a winner? No. They go down to ten men and five minutes from the end, Sevilla pop up with a winner.
Seven goals, nine yellow cards and one red card. The game simply had everything.
That’s three defeats in four for Real who are now nine points behind Barcelona who thrashed third placed Valencia 4-0 on Saturday.
There are two major worries for Real Madrid. Firstly, they are almost out of the title race already and secondly they almost certainly will be after they visit the Camp Nou in their next game!
