Sevilla continue their defence of the Europa League with a second leg last-16 clash against FC Basel this evening. The Spanish La Liga side played out a goalless stalemate in the first leg at Switzerland, and are favourites to get the job done at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium tonight to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Coming off the back of 13 consecutive home wins in La Liga, Sevilla are in fantastic shape to get the win this evening, and given they are chasing an unprecedented third Europa League title in as many seasons, they won’t give it up without a fight. Basel are no slouches themselves, however, dominating in their domestic league ahead of tonight meeting.
The visitors have looked human in Europe. Having been eliminated in the Champions League qualifiers, they have dropped points in four of their last seven Europa League games. Basel even lost the away leg in the last-32 against relative minnows Saint-Etienne so they could struggle against the holders tonight.
