Manchester City could be in for a tricky Champions League encounter when they travel to face Spanish La Liga side and two-time Europa League champions Sevilla on Tuesday night. The Sky Blues were given a scare against Norwich City in their recent weekend Premier League clash, and don’t have the best record on the road in the Champions League. Sevilla have struggled in the group, but will be out for revenge in front of their own fans this week.

City came out on top when the two sides locked horns at the Etihad Stadium last month, but the Spaniards came away feeling very hard done by to have lost. It took a late winner from the home side to get all three points, and now they have to stem the inevitable tide that will be coming from a Sevilla side desperate to respond and get their own back on the Premier League leaders. City would certainly be happy with a point as they’re in good shape to qualify from Group D, but Sevilla won’t settle for anything less than a win at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Manchester City are still picking up results in all competitions, but have been far from convincing at times. They left it until the dying minutes to secure a win at home to Norwich on Saturday afternoon, and were held to a draw in the Manchester derby against fierce rivals Manchester United. As for their European campaign, two late winners against Borussia Monchengladbach and Sevilla see Manuel Pellegrini’s in great shape to progress, but it’s been far from straight-forward. They would take any positive result against Sevilla this week, and would certainly settle for a share of the spoils.
