Le Mans have turned down a €7million (£5.6million) offer from Spanish club Sevilla for their captain, Koffi Romaric.
With two of their major stars, Christian Poulsen and Seydou Keita, looking set to leave Seville this summer, the club are pressured to to make some quality signings this summer. Koffi Romaric fits that bill perfectly, but he has proven to be a tough signing.
The French outfit want €10million (£8million) for their captain, and their chairman won’t budge.
Romaric was quoted saying: “Three years at Le Mans is enough! I have made my decision, I will leave.
“The chairman has closed the door to Sevilla, it is his problem – in my mind I have already left.
“Maybe they will prevent me from going to Sevilla – but I need another challenge and it will be elsewhere, not in Le Mans – it is very clear I won’t be back.”
