Russian newspaper Izvestia is reporting that Sevilla are stepping up their efforts to sign Spartak Moscow defender Nicolas Pareja.
Los Rojiblancos currently boast a pretty youthful back line and they are keen to add some experience to their defence.
According to Izvestia, Sevilla boss Unai Emery is hoping to sign centre-back Nicolas Pareja from Spartak Moscow.
The talented coach knows the player well from his time at the Russian club and he is convinced the Argentine would add much needed steel to his back line.
Sevilla have already submitted an offer for the highly rated defender, which includes a season-long loan with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Pareja is currently considering the proposal, although he will have to agree to a major pay cut in order to sign for los Rojiblancos.
The 29-year-old joined Spartak from Espanyol three years back, but has only made 47 league appearances for the club due to numerous injury problems.
