La Liga giants Sevilla have confirmed they are keen on bringing Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega back to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
The Argentine playmaker surprisingly decided to leave los Rojiblancos on a free transfer last summer, signing a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri, and he fared pretty well in his debut season at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Banega managed 6 goals and 8 assists in 28 Serie A appearances, but he is now being linked with a move away from the club.
While Sevilla are also keen on Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic, they have confirmed Ever Banega remains on their radar.
“Banega? In football, you can never say never. He’s won so much with Sevilla and he’s a fantastic player.
“We don’t know the will of his club, but he may decide to come back here, where he had his best years.
“Jovetic and Banega are different situations; we’ve worked a lot on one and the other can grow in the next few days.
“There are no talks with Inter, but our sporting director and Banega are talking. We can’t guarantee him the wages he gets at Inter, but who knows…”
Inter Milan squad will undergo a major overhaul following the arrival of Luciano Spalletti and Sevilla chiefs clearly hope the likes of Banega and Jovetic will not be in his plans for the new campaign.
