Europa League holders Sevilla have registered an interest in Bayer Leverkusen striker Joel Pohjanpalo, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Finnish forward has shown a great deal of potential since returning from a loan spell at Fortuna Dusseldorf, bagging four league goals in mere two substitute appearances.
And it appears that his impressive performances did not go unnoticed as Sevilla transfer guru Monchi is keen on bringing Pohjanpalo to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan at the earliest opportunity.
The los Rojiblancos chief is well aware of the fact that the 22-year-old has less than two years left on his current deal and he will attempt to secure his signature before Leverkusen can offer him a contract extension.
Joel Pohjanpalo has spent last three years on loan spells with Aalen and Fortuna Dusseldorf, scoring 19 goals in 77 appearances in Germany’s second division, before going on to score four goals in first 30 minutes of Bundesliga football.
