Sevilla are in advanced talks for Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez, Spanish daily newspaper Marca has suggested.
Los Rojiblancos aim to recruit a central midfielder in the winter transfer window and they have made the experienced footballer their number one target.
Sevilla hope to take the player on loan until the end of the season and while Lucho has agreed to move to Spain, the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement.
The 33-year-old joined Al Rayyan from FC Porto a year ago, but only made ten appearances for his new side and could not prevent the club from getting relegated.
Lucho now hopes to return to the biggest stage by joining Sevilla, and test his skills in Spanish La Liga for the first time in his career.
The experienced midfielder, who has 45 Argentina caps to his name, began his career at Huracan and later represented River Plate, Porto, Marseille and Al Rayyan.
